Laser Hair Removal in Porter Ranch, CA

InMode Laser Hair Removal at Lana Med Spa

InMode’s laser hair removal technology helps reduce unwanted hair, so you can spend less time shaving, waxing, or tweezing and enjoy smoother skin.

Long-Term Hair Reduction

Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction over a series of sessions. Hair that grows back is typically finer, lighter, and slower-growing, and occasional maintenance sessions may be needed to keep your results. Results vary from person to person.

How It Works

InMode’s hair removal technology covers large treatment areas, gently reducing unwanted hair with advanced laser technology. It can be used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair, including the bikini area, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin, and sideburns.

Our Laser Technology

Fusion Light / Fusion Dark

Fusion laser hair removal reduces unwanted hair. Fusion Light is optimized for lighter skin tones, while Fusion Dark is developed for coarse and stubborn hair on darker skin tones.

DiolazeXL MAX

DiolazeXL MAX is a diode laser that can be used on most areas of the face and body. It targets coarse and stubborn hair and is designed for a wide range of skin types.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a popular cosmetic procedure that reduces unwanted hair. The laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and targets the follicles that are in the active growth phase, which reduces their ability to grow new hair. Because hair grows in cycles, treatments are spaced out over time. We typically suggest a minimum of 4–6 weeks between sessions for the face and neck, a minimum of 6–8 weeks for the body, and up to 12–16 weeks for slow-growing hair anywhere on the body. Learn more about hair growth cycles on our unwanted hair page.

Who Can Benefit from Laser Hair Removal?

Anyone who is tired of shaving, waxing, or tweezing may benefit from laser hair removal. Because the laser targets pigment in the hair follicle, people with dark, coarse hair often see the best results. Laser does not work on blonde, white, gray, or red hair; it only works on black and brown hair in the treatment area.

How to Prepare

Stop plucking, waxing, electrolysis, tanning, and any other form of hair removal that removes the hair from the root for six weeks before you begin laser hair removal. We also ask that you stop using strong skincare ingredients, including retinols, AHAs, and BHAs, for 72 hours before treatment. On the day of your treatment, shave the treatment area and make sure it is clean and free of products.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

You and your technician will wear appropriate eye protection during the session. The laser handpiece is moved across the treatment area to target unwanted hair follicles. The length of your session depends on the size of the area being treated.

Results and Aftercare

There is no downtime after laser hair removal, so you can return to your everyday activities as soon as you feel comfortable. Treated skin may look pink or slightly swollen, which fades with time; cool compresses and moisturizers may help. Over the next month the treated hair will shed, and over the course of your sessions hair should become thinner and grow back more slowly. Avoid sunbathing for at least one week after treatment, and avoid swimming, hot tubs, and saunas for several days after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction, not a guarantee that every hair is gone for good. Most people see significantly less hair after a series of sessions, and occasional maintenance sessions may be needed.

How many sessions will I need?

Because hair grows in cycles, several sessions are needed to treat the follicles in their active growth phase. The number depends on the area, your hair, and your skin, and we will recommend a plan at your consultation.

Does laser hair removal work on light-colored hair?

No. The laser targets pigment, so it works only on black and brown hair. It does not work on blonde, white, gray, or red hair.

Is there downtime?

No. Treated skin may look pink or slightly swollen for a short time, and you can return to your normal activities. Avoid sunbathing for at least a week after treatment.
